Tree Care Guidelines
- Verify that the lifting capacity of your equiptment is sufficient to unload and move the trees you have purchased.
- Do not leave trees lying on the gound after they are unloaded. trees should be placed in an upright position without delay to prevent damage to the bark from intense sunlight (sunscald).
- Trees with leaves should be untied immediately to prevent loss of foliage.
- Material used for trunk-protection should be removed as soon as possible to avoid insect damage.
- At regular intervals during planting, saturate the hole to ensure that all air is removed from the backfill.
- After the tree is planted in the desired position, remove any burlap, tags, or tape that are in contact with the trunk. only the portion of wire and burlap on top of the rootball must be removed.
- Closely observe trees during the first year following planting for insects and fungal pathogens. we suggest the institution of a preventative pest management program during this establishment period.
